A New Beginning for Nneka James: A Story of Hope and Support

During our hospital visit in Ondo State, Nigeria, we came across Nneka James a mother with a 3-day old baby who was stranded at the hospital.

We learned that Nneka had to undergo an unplanned Caesarean Section (CS) to ensure the safe delivery of her lovely baby and her own safety 3 days prior to our visit.

Due to the additional costs incurred by the unforeseen surgical procedure, ~ was unable to purchase the essential postoperative medications which were needed to ensure adequate recovery and prevent postoperative infections.

She was also unable to pay the hospital bills which had accrued for every day that she remained admitted and under observation. Her situation was dire as her husband, who had been in an accident, was unable to provide further financial support for her.

We received a breakdown of all her outstanding bills and made a complete payment to the hospital. We also received and purchased all prescribed medications for her to recover properly and be able to take care of herself and newborn.

We are so happy to know that Nneka and her baby were discharged and returned home to their family where the mother and child are doing fine with no outstanding debt.

We plan to visit her soon and will keep you updated on her progress and any further assistance we provide to Nneka’s family.
